Hi everyone! Today, LOWREZJAM 2024 kicked off, and I’m joining in on the fun! I hope to document my progress daily here on Ko-Fi. Keep your eyes peeled for content updates <3
The basic premise of “Oops Airlines” is that the airlines’ computer systems all crashed - and it’s up to you to guide the planes to safety! As planes spawn in the play area, the game will pause for you to draw a flight-plan. Once drawn, the plane will follow your path until it reaches the hangar. Be careful though! If two planes collide, the game will end!
Today we accomplished a lot!
- settled on a theme (All Systems Have Broken)
- chose a game idea to pursue (Oops Airlines)
- started a spritesheet
- got the initial map, zoom, and pan controls working
Funny enough, we also had a few key raids and fellow jammers join my Twitch livestream today and we hit our 1000 follower goal! So that was fun to celebrate a bit today as well.
Tomorrow, I hope to start writing the aircraft spawning and “planning mode” code. The jam lasts until the 15th, so we should have plenty of time to add juicy and fun features along the way <3
