Hello from Hugo! #
Hey everyone! We’re giving this whole blog thing another try. I’m playing with a new tech stack, a new VPS, a new everything! I’m making an effort here, at the end of the year, to move to more self-hosted services. This is a bit motivated by all of the corporate push into AI and the continual loss of privacy via forced opt-out features.
I am very thankful for a community that is going on this journey with me! About 6 weeks ago I wiped my Windows 11 drive and switched entirely to Linux. My laptop runs Linux Mint, my gaming PC runs Bazzite, and I will soon have a private home server that will run Ubuntu as a headless server. We’re going all in on self-hosted and privacy focused services!
So, remaking my website (again haha) feels like a great step forward, and with a friend like Vildravn helping us along the way with the DevOps of it all, I feel like the future is looking just a little brighter now that I’m taking back control.
